Objective: Everyone deserves to take a break once in a while. We provide simple guided digital-free activities to break up the day and give your eyes a rest from that screen. Burned out from work is a thing of the past.
As we all know… 2020 was rough!
Continuously working from home has been a struggle
You deserve a break!
Take 5 is here to help you achieve this.
Boost your energy levels.
Increase your attention span throughout the day.
Lower stress and tension you carry from work.
On average, we spend around 10 hours
a day looking at a digital device!
When you’re done staring at a Zoom call for 8 hours, you might go straight to the TV and
when you’re done watching TV you go straight to your phone and it just seems like a vicious cycle!
You need to stretch out those legs and rest those eyes eventually.
How would you like to take your breaks?
Scheduled Breaks - Set up breaks catered to your own work schedule.
Random Breaks - The app will notify you when it notices you haven’t
taken a break in a while.Optimize your time throughout the workday.

Guided digital free breaks
There are 4 digital free activities to choose from for your breaks.
The activities are tailored to your preferences.
The timer is there as a friendly reminder of how long you have for
your breaks.
Everyone loves prizes!
Earn points for each activity completed.
Turn your points into fun little prizes from your
office or friends.Rest easy knowing you are making a difference
in your health and well-being.
Digital burnout is more common than you might think!
Roughly 42% of the U.S. labor force now work from home full-time due to Covid-19.
Less than 5% of adults engage in 30 minutes of physical activity each day.
Working through your breaks might sound like you’ll get a lot done, but studies show your
performance actually gets worse the longer you focus on a specific task for too long.
What’s missing with apps these days?
Most competitor apps give you reminders of WHEN to take a break, but not WHAT to do on those breaks. Competitive Analysis
What my user looks like
So how do I help people get their mojo
back without digital devices?
Create something simple. Because life is too complicated as it is!
How might we...
Help people take healthier productive breaks?
My hypothesis:
There’s a need to have healthier guided breaks and this app could help encourage people to improve their well-being and better their mental health!
Tons of ideas drawn up and ready to go.
Sketching all the possible ideas to get the right solution was key! I kicked these
sketches into high gear and created some LoFi Wireframes and HiFi Mockups.

What did I learn from all of this?
Digital free breaks are hard to take these days - with a little help,
it’s definitely doable! This was my very first time going through the complete design process. I learned a lot of great skills for every step of the way throughout this project.
Having empathy and experience with this topic really helped me understand what my users are going through.
And that’s a wrap!
(For now at least)
I am very excited about the end result, especially with something I would want to use myself! I hope one day in the future this app can be fully functional and help people take true digital free breaks throughout their busy days!
